Saturday I was suppose to go 1515 for the day, but a hurricane like rainstorm and a previous long work day kept me from going. After I finally got my act together I realized that the flea market was this weekend at a local fairgrounds.
As you walk in to the right is the first booth and the man sells only silver. I love silver.
And what did I find?
A gravy boat. I thought that I do not need another I have 3 already, one to my and then my Mom's china and an old ironstone one that belonged to my Great Great Grandparents.
But then I realized it looked like Daffodil? My Grandmother's silver I have. So I asked the price
and the response was ..........$5!! Ok, it had to go home with me, these sell on ebay for about $75!
Yes, it is Daffodil!
Here it is next to my Grandmother's silver, perfect match!
So I probably won't use it on my table as a gravy boat so here are some other suggestions..
Tea caddy?
Spooner?
But here is what I think I like
For flowers!
How would use it?
I think I did the right thing by bringing it home!

What a gorgeous piece, Ann and how wonderful it matches your grandmother's pattern. I love the gravy boat with flowers.
Ann, isn't it fun when you find something that matches a family piece and at the price, you know you had to bring it home.
Looks great as a spooner, too! Love it with flowers.
I don't thing it would look bad no matter what you put in it!

Oh, what a beauty you found, Ann. And so versatile a piece to boot! Love your creative use ideas, but the flowers I love best.
Have a great week ~

Such a gorgeous piece and it matches the silver. That is a very special find. Now I would never have thought to use mine in such creative ways. I love all of your suggestions. Very clever and pretty. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
Hi Ann...
My friend, I share your love for all beautiful silver! Ohh my...what a fabulous piece that you found...and to think that it is the same "Daffodil" pattern of your grandmother's silver! I believe that it was meant to be!!! Ohhh...and for a mere $5??? That little pretty would have hopped into my bad before you could have said "lickitty-split"! Hehe! Great treasure find, my friend...I'm so happy for you! I think it is a very versatile piece. It looks lovely as a "spooner"! But ohhh...it really does look gorgeous filled with flowers and beautiful blue hydrangeas are the best!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your new pretty with us today, my friend!
Warmest wishes,
Chari
Oh, Ann, it's a beauty and what a great find! Your grandmother would be pleased! I love the hydrangeas in it but I like the silverware in it too. Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing and have a delightful day.
Blessings,
Sandi
Wow! Look at all the things you can do with it! I am impressed! Pretty too!
What a lucky find! I'm working on planning some dates to open the barn-I'll let you know when!
What a steal! I like it best as a sudo vase. You could also place lovely soap within it and set it on the bathroom counter.
I love that daffodil pattern! I've seen it just once before. I had a few pieces that I sold at the antique shop. It's such a pretty and unique pattern. That gravy boat was definitely meant to be yours! I like it with the silverware in it, and you're right...it can be used for many more things other than just holding gravy!!!
Best Wishes and Blessings,
Amanda
What a great find! I love the pattern. I like it with the flowers ( I am not a gravy fan)
Oh you made the right choice! I have too much silver because I love it so much and can't stop buying it. But I'm buying it slower now! haha A lot of mine is inherited and at an excellent price like yours. I've never seen your pattern before, and it's so pretty I would have snapped it up too not knowing what it is! Lovely!
Quite a find, I wold say.
