My Nikko Blue Hydrangea is starting to bloom. Now I know they say it depends on whether the soil is acidic etc. will make it bloom a different color. But mine is showing 3 colors at once!
Pink, Blue and Purple!
Pink and Blue in the same shot!
now for the Purple
One branch was growing through the fence into the bed where I have my columbine and coral bells, so I cut it back and it had 2 big purple blooms on it. I had to bring them inside.
Can you see the flowers on my tea cup?
A white and purple hydrangea!
So on this Sunday, I am going to enjoy my hydrangea inside and outside.
We will be working in the garden and then later steaks on the grill and wine around the fire pit. Sounds like a perfect day for Mr. Sentimental and I.
I just love these flowers-so pretty-the different shades are great! BTW-the blender was my sisters-you're right-need a pink one!
The hydrangeas are beautiful and look wonderful with your tea cup. Have a wonderful Sunday!
Beautiful hydrangeas! I love the matching tea cup too!
One of my hydrangeas did that last year; I had pink, some blue and some purpley-pink-blue all on one bush. I had been a little lax adding aluminum sulfate to the soil last year, so it showed in the blooms.
I love your multi-colored hydrangeas. I just bought one of those ever blooming ones. Hope I have good luck with it.
Your hydrangeas are so awesomely beautiful. How do you do it? I planted the Niko las summer and it did not make it through the winter. Of course, we had a very cold, dry winter.
Your tricolored hydrangea is so pretty. Maybe that means you have mixed soil? LOL! Be sure to stop by my blog. I'm having a little giveaway!
The hydragea are beautiful especially paired with your cup and saucer.
What incredible blooms. I love hydrangeas no matter what color they are...I don't have any blooms from the ones in my garden yet. I have a few in pots on my deck and they have huge blooms. I'm torn between cutting them and enjoying them inside or leaving them alone...huge dilemma! Have a great rest of the week.
Well Ann, now I have some serious hydrangea envy. Ours -- which bloom pretty much BLUE and that's it -- are just doing POOPY this year. We think it's the very rough winter we had -- the old growth branches just took a terrible beating, and didn't set buds at all. Very disappointing.
And there you are with gorgeous blooms in ALL the colors! Fabulous. I have no idea why that happens, but my advice is to just enjoy it.
And yes, I'm a purist and it is really hard to let go of the upstairs shutters -- but I think it would look pretty odd to have some old and then some new right next to them up there; better to have all new, less noticeable I think.
Besides I am pretty sure I can find good homes for funky old shutters -- that's if I can give any up!
Lucky you -- I love hydrangeas!!! And three colors on one bush! Wow!
Beautiful hydrangeas!! How funny that they bloomed in so many different colors! They look beautiful outside and displayed in your home.
Beautiful, I love hydrangeas. Isn't it wonderful when one bloom can fill a room with color.I enjoyed my visit to you blog. Hugs
Ann, your hydrangeas are gorgeous, the multicolored one is my favorite. I love drying hydrangeas to make wreaths just makes the season lasts longer. Beautiful teacups so pretty with white and purple on the cup what a nice combination.
Have a wonderful week, hugs Rosemary X
I just became follower 150. The hydrangeas are fabulous, I try once but my hubby kept mowing over it. I also think my yard might be to shady.
Gorgeous hydrangeas! I LOVE them-especially the purple. I decided to try growing them this year-instead of always admiring them from afar. I hope they turn out as beautiful as yours!
