More of the Historic Home Tour

Here is part II

The next home was also built in 1864 and use to be owned by the 
town Dr. Who by the way is in his 90's but attended almost all of
our commemoration ceremonies!

Here is what the house looked like in the 1880's with a porch 
and carriage way

OH NO! The family that lives there now is from Mississippi

And the homeowners parents dressed for the occasion, The Dad was a confederate General.
He was looking for Copperheads too!

Ok one more house!

This is next door
built in 1870
Highlighted by a solarium and beautiful Antiques

And he had a copy of the Chicago paper in 1864
that reported the riot!

Ann- Those are GREAT old houses...each one has something special in it. I love history and the old houses--what stories they could tell!
