1515 Christmas in Review

I always look so forward to my week in December at 1515.
After it is over I have time to slow down.
But how I hate for it to be over, I get to spend time with my
family, have a great holiday party with family and friends,
a pj party with my cousins and most of all
just to spend time in my hometown and
relax a little.

I started decorating in November so when I got there, I was not
overwhelmed for a to do list.

The first day cousin Fred and I went out to lunch, for a drive in the
country and to get a Christmas tree.
I got the tree done the first night. See the blocks and nut bowl?
The blocks were my Grandmother's and the nut bowl appeared
under the tree in all my Grandparents Christmas tree pictures.

It was beautiful at night.....I loved sitting in the dark and looking at it.

Cousin Mary arrived the next day
We had lunch in my hometown with Robin from Decorating Tennis Girl
Robin and I have know each other our entire lives and the cousin tradition
of getting together started when we use to stay at the cottage at Robin's
B&B.

We had wrapping and cooking to do over the next 2 days

I hope you remember the story of Frank and Felicity, they came
south to spend the winter at 1515

On Saturday, friends and family gathered together to
celebrate the season.

Plenty of good food
and ...laughter

The twins just made in back in time from visiting the
Christmas markets in Europe.
The next day was Pajama day! and we had presents to unwrap!

a good time was had by all!

all the decorations will be up until I return......

What a wonderful way to celebrate a holiday: with family at a family home. I do wish my grandma's house were still in the family! Alas. All I have are wonderful memories. Your nuts under the tree reminded me of the nut dish my grandmother had. While it was never placed under the tree, it was brought out at the holidays. I loved seeing 1515 all dressed up and the happy faces. Merry Christmas.

That Christmas tree makes me want to cry, but in a good way! It reminds me so much of the tree my Grandpa would go out into the woods to cut down, and then put a string of those lights with the big bulbs on it, and tinsel and old ornaments. LOVED this post!
Merry Christmas!

I love your feather trees, thanks for including them . I should link you up, so people could see them, afraid I am not smart enough. Have a wonderful Christmas. Judging from the pictures in this Post, looks like you will. Richard from My Old Historic House.
