BBrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Baby is is Cold Outside, Tea Anyone?

It was 13 when I got up this morning. I am done drinking coffee for the day so to stay warm how about a little tea vignette. I have several teapots and tons of tea cups but I have not really shared any yet. For January I wanted to set my buffet up in blue.........I did not get it done.

I cleaned my new silver tray I picked up and put this together for today.

The creamer, sugar, and tea cup are from my Grandmothers everyday dishes.
I am so glad I kept them. I was looking for a house about the time my Grandfather died and my Mom said, "you better get that house, what are you going to do with all this stuff".
Well of course I got my house with a huge dining room and I am oh so glad I kept ALL of my Grandmothers dishes, silver and crystal. Many items go back to my GGGrandparents.

This the pattern my Grandparents ate off of everyday in my Grandma's blue kitchen.
I have the 8 piece place setting along with the creamer and sugar. The teapot is one I purchased several years ago..small enough for a couple of cups.

Don't you just love the teaspoon. She had 8 of these teaspoons, probably extras for when she had a meeting of Eastern Star or Book lovers at her house.
The sugar has a one pattern

and

The creamer another pattern, all English countryside

Aren't the handles so ornate?

The silver tray cleaned up pretty well, the engraving is so pretty and looks like Daisy's. Too bad I did not have some Daisy's today.

Now to make it a Valentine Day post

Notice the blue tea pot in the card?
"I'm all steamed up"

Hope you stay warm in the arms of those you love today

Morning, Ann- I have 10 right now, so you are warmer than we are here. Love your blues. The little valentine sure fits into your tea party. So cute.
I am so glad this last storm went south of us! My cousin has 7 inches in Arkansas right now and it's still coming down there!
You know, this blog will be so useful later on. There is a place where you can print off your blog in book form. There is a link to it on the Cutest Blog on the Block site. Go check it out and see if it's something you might want to do sometime.
Hugs- Tete

What a cute Valentine card and so perfect for a tea vignette! I love that Blue Brook -- my mother had it too and I inherited what she had left -- a few salad plates and a platter. But I treasure them!

I just am loving your blue china -- that Blue Brook is something else. I can't imagine eating off of these everyday. Also the teaspoons are so ornate and different -- as well as the tray. What a fun Valentine to add.

I love that you're reusing the china that your grandparents used everyday. Years ago my mother-in-law gave me a box of red transferware Ironstone Romantic England dishes that we now use everyday. The connection with the past is so important. Beautiful display. Thanks for sharing! ~CJ

A beautiful tea set, and all the more beautiful because of it's history! Lucky you! Those teaspoons are gorgeous!!!! Imagine all the cups of tea they have stirred, and the stories they have heard. :)
A bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck (my mama used to sing that song to us as children, then I did to my girls, and now I'm singing it to my grandchildren.
Thanks for sharing!
