I have a little pink today for Pink Saturday on this autograph book.
This is my Great Great Emma's autograph book.
One of the things I found when cousin Fred gave me
our Great Aunt Annie's things.
the first entry is on Nov 1887
Most are sweet poems written by her classmates or
her many many cousins.
This is Aunt Emma's house on the same street as my 1515.
Aunt Emma had polio and never married. She lived with 2 of her
widowed sisters. She was the youngest of 13 and the last living sibling,
dying in 1941 just 4 months after my Great Grandfather, her brother.
Unfortunately, here is what it looks like today. You can still make out one of
the stain glass windows.
I am sure there were many a gathering, and maybe some signage in the
autograph book.
Here are the siblings, Aunt Emma is sitting in the front in her
wheelchair. My Great Grandfather is the man on the very left.
How difficult it must of been then to have been in a w/c.
One of my distant cousins, remembers wheeling her downtown to
go shopping, since her house was a block from the town square.
I think she was a beautiful young woman.
Born during the Civil War in 1863 and dying
on the eve of WWII in 1941.
My Great Aunt became the keeper of her things.
I now am the keeper of many of her treasures.
