My Mom's Baby Buggy and Margaret

This pictures is one of my favorites of my Mother and Grandmother.

It also hangs in my Garden Cottage above the mantel, with a big chippy white frame. I have it hanging there because of the Hollyhocks in the background

But the other reason I love this picture, is because of Mom's baby buggy

Yes, I still have it!

luckily it is still in great shape. Years ago my Grandfather and Great Uncle got it out of my Grandparents crawl space and had it cleaned and tightened and then they presented to me!

A green color wicker, little side windows

The top moves back and forth so your baby doll can look at you or straight ahead

Speaking of babies, may I introduce Margaret

Here she is in her finest outfit, ready for a buggy ride. She had been in the buggy since about 1930. I don't know why she named her Margaret, but that was my Mom's Great Grandmothers name, whom she was close to.

Shirley Temple also shares the buggy with Margaret. My Mom's 2 dolls.

Margaret and Shirley tucked in under a quilt made by my Great Grandmother

The picture sits on the table in the pink bedroom next to the stroller

I think Margaret is ready for a nap, I will lay her down and those pretty brown eyes will close.

Oh Ann Sweetie...
How gorgeous is this baby carriage, and then to know that you have the photo that goes with it. Such beautiful memories of your family.

Love the dolls, so precious and priceless. Margaret and Shirley look wonderful for their age don't they?

Thank you for sharing the beautiful memory with me this evening. I SO enjoyed my visit. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

I love the dolls. I also have a similar buggy that was my mother-in-laws. My daughters played with it at their great grandma's old farm house, and now the my little granddaughters play with it. No old doll babies, a cabbage patch bath tub doll bay, and an old teddy bear. I don't have any special photos or special memories of the girls' grandmother, just an old buggy that has served 3 generations. The little pink quilt is just precious and perfect. I love your pink room.

What a charming post, I love that baby buggy. When I was a little girl, I had my mom's doll. It was fabric but the head and hands were ceramic or porcelain. The dolls face had lots of little cracks in it but I still loved it! Visitng from VTT xo,
