The kitchen redo progress with me going through everything to decided what to keep, clean what I do keep and find a place for it.
One thing I really need to clean was my Grandmother's Blue Ridge dishes I have on a shelf
in the kitchen above the Hoosier cabinet.
the plates are identical but different stamps on back
you can read about them here
my favorite is the square ones
Took awhile to figure out the pattern, Flower Ring.
All hand painted
made in Erwin TN from 1917-1957
creamer and sugar
tea cups too
I found more plates some are the strawberry pattern
and a bowl I remember my Mom had which is a sunflower
I can remember eating my Grandmothers pimento cheese sandwiches off the square plates.
Then I found this picture!
Apparently they were used on my 1st birthday!
can you see the square plates used under the bowls? the tea cups too.
I sometimes think if my Grandmother ever came back to life she would be so happy I still have so many of her things. As I look at this picture it is amazing, I have the dishes, the silverware, the salt n pepper shakers, the cake plate because it turns and plays "Happy Birthday", the flower pots in the window sill, and the letter holder next to the phone I keep my bills in to this day.
Going through all this is so fun, finding things I forgot I had...oops.
Oh and I found my Grandmothers meat loaf recipe! She made the best.
Have a great weekend!
per request here is my sweet Grandma's meat loaf recipe.
We had many a cold meat loaf sandwich. I am sure she used lean ground beef.
