Today is my last day off after a glorious 2 weeks off!
Mr. and I went on our first true vacation in about 10 years.
We headed to Texas to visit his brother.
their home is on a boulevard lined with old oak trees, such a glorious view.
a wonderful old ranch house on a couple acres right in the middle of town.
I could sit out in their yard all day long, it was so relaxing
their front yard is like a park, and you have to love their fence.
We had great weather, my SIL did alot of antique shopping, the boys some work around the house, and great meals out under the Texas stars every night.
Downtown Boerne has so many more shops since I was there last.
This was a great place we went to for breakfast one day.
the interior was beautiful and the food was great!
you can find about anything, even famous pickles
a great Christmas shop
just north is the small town of Comfort, they had one of the best antique malls I have ever been in
Sisterdale general store was where we had a steak dinner under the stars and lights with some great music
true Texas entertainment
of course I enjoyed the cat that reminded me of my sweet Pinky
One day was spent in Fredricksburg, which we had been to before but we went to the Pacific Theater WWII museum, shopping and of course eating German food.
I thought you would enjoy seeing the old 5&10
so much reminded me of the one of yesterday in Charleston
window display
oh how i had forgotten about the fake flowers
row after row of wooden shelving filled with all kinds of items
family, wine, relaxing
we just loved hanging out under the oaks in the Texas Hill Country

Thanks for popping in and visiting me today. You come through as a NoReply when you leave a comment-not sure if you know that so just thought I would let you know.
It sounds like you had a wonderful time. Lots of good food, shopping, antiques and different little towns. I am so glad you and your hubby took a vacation. 10 years is a long time to wait for a vacation--but we had times like that, too.
I love the picture of the two "boys" sitting together- solving the problems of the world. Have a great week- xo Diana
Looks like such a fun 2 week vaca! Love that 5 & dime. We had one where we used to live, and they are so nostalgic now. I'm in love with their fence, lol. Did you bring home pickles? :)
I am so glad to read about your Texas trip. My brother loves in the Texas hill country, too. He has mentioned a trip to Fredericksberg.that part of Texas is really beautiful. I love the huge old live oak trees. And the antique and junk shopping goes on forever. Now back to reality.
Sounds like a great trip, Ann! I've heard about Fredericksburg. That dime store sounds like alot of fun, and a real blast from the past! Glad you were able to visit with family:)
