When I bought 1515 five years ago and was trying to furnish it as cheap as I could, I came across a old radio cabinet and thought it would be great in the kitchen.
a great place for cookbooks, Pyrex and to display my scale lamp. Perfect fit between my Grandmother's enamel top table.
But last spring my cousin brought my Grandmothers Hoosier cabinet back to its original home at 1515
so the radio cabinet had to go
but I love the detail on it so.......
so it was moved to my bedroom and I had some Rachael Ashwell wicker baskets that fit perfect.
It now has a assortment of vintage sewing items
perfect spot for this special picture of my Grandmother, I never knew her but my cousins say they can hear her laugh when they see this picture.
I think it fits the corner well
morning light into the bedroom
I think Grandmother would love the way her bedroom looks
so the third live of the
Ann, That cabinet looks just right in the bedroom corner. Your grandmother would be so proud of you...keeping the memories. I love the little white gloves on the dressing table. xoxo,Susie
Your radio cabinet is a great piece..pretty and serviceable. Love it with the wicker baskets.
Such a sweet post! Love your radio cabinet in all its homes. Your bedroom looks charming. I adore the pink paint you chose, so pretty.
Thank you so much for commiserating with me on going through our parents things - I didn't mention that it took me nearly 15 years (until my father passed) to go through my mom's things. Neither my dad or I could bear to do it.
Happy almost weekend! xo
P.S. I love the photos of your neighborhood, so lovely.
Hi Ann! I love your radio cabinet and it looked so cute in the kitchen with all of your vintage things. Love the scales lamp. But...it looks beautiful in your sweet bedroom too! Love the snap of your grandmother laughing. I'll bet she was a hoot. Always so nice to hear from you.
Be a sweetie,
Ann,it's perfect in that spot! I love the details on it also and the baskets look as though they came with it. Yup, grandma is smiling! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
Another amazing transformation for your radio cabinet!!! I adore how it went from
utilitarian to feminine with just a flight of stairs, dear friend!!!
I agree, Grandmother would adore this rooms decor!!!
Grandma, indeed, would love that she lives on at 1515. Not many have the privilege of keeping such family history alive. The bedroom is perfect and the radio cabinet fits perfectly. She'd love it.
Your cabinet is so pretty, what a great way to repurpose it. I love the way the baskets look on the shelves. That photo of your grandma is great too, love the frame! Yes, I do believe she would be more than pleased her bedroom!
What a great repurpose of the cabinet. I love the touch of wicker you added. Great photos... such a sweet vibe you have given to all the rooms you pictured.

The cabinet looked nice in all the different place. However, I like it better where you have it now. I am sure your grandmother, is saying granddaughter you did good.
The cabinet looked good in the kitchen but some how the bedroom just seems like the perfect fit. Lovely bedroom, I'm sure your grandmother would be tickled pink
Well, it is just great in your bedroom and those RA baskets fit it like they were made for it.
I think it is wonderful that you got the old Hoosier back. That is the best part of the kitchen, isn't it?
I wish I had our old radio cabinet that I grew up with. I'm not sure what happened to all that stuff once my brother passed.
Hope you had a great weekend- I missed this post somehow. xo Diana
