October 15th

October 15th
One of my favorite days of the year
The leaves are turning
The weather is cooler

Any many years ago this was my first picture
I realized when I looked at it you can still see my
hospital arm band on!
the day I came home from the hospital with my Mom and brother.

It is a monumental birthday...no it is not a decade reached or anything like that.

It is a different reason, my Dad died young and I was always nervously hoped I would make it pass
 the age that he died.

Hoping for a good day, nothing special.
Miss the days I would spend it with my Mom.

I feel sad that you worried about living longer than your father did...Any more we know our family medical history and do things to help ourselves. My dear friend died of a heart attack...so did her parents..My friend was having some problems and stuck her head in the sand. She walked once with a nurse friend and became short winded...that nurse told to go to the drs. Then she asked me about it..I told her yes, yes, get to the dr. NOW !!!. Six months later she was gone. She really never told her doctor what was happening. So dear Anne if you have problems please check things out. xoxo,Susie

Happy Birthday! Mom died at 60, so I know that feeling. I haven't gotten there yet, but with everything that I have been through, I was so thrilled to see 50 come and go. I really didn't think I would make it that long.
Hope you have a good day and take a quiet moment to spend with your mom and dad. They're around...

A bit late, but happy birthday, girl. Each one as we get older is a gift and a milestone. And yes to surpass a loved one's mileage is indeed worth challenging. I have a ways to to go to surpass my mom who passed at 75 and my dad who went at 80, a grandpa who lived to 94. In the meantime I live each day the best I can. Hope you celebrated in grand style.
