I'm So Excited!

This is my first time for joining Potpourri Friday with Honey from 2805.
I am on vacation and I find that I actually have some creative juices flowing!

When I cleaned out my garden cottage this week, I found this.

When I bought it was my favorite color green, but has faded to a blueish color, Donna from  My Shabby Chateau would love it! If I have learned anything from you guys.....PAINT IT!  I normally have mini clay pots with candles in the holders. But if I have learned

So I thought white, yes that would great on my porch.

But NO!

It's Fall so I painted black after I figured out what I was going to do.

I hope you like it!

When my in laws moved out of their house, I found 2 of this apple baskets in the basement.
She and my sister in laws were going to throw them out! So that is my thrifty find!
I was just going to stand the holder up on a table, but like the idea of it in the basket surrounded by mums. Little pumpkins for the holders and one special white one for the topper.

I can think of so many uses now. It would make a great centerpiece surrounded by gourds and leaves on the dining room table or for a outdoor setting.

I had planned to put sphagnum moss around the bottom of each pumpkin, but I believe my pesky squirrels would have their way with it?

For now, it is sitting next to the main entrance. I need to finish decorating the rest of the porch.

For right now...... I think I will sit and enjoy my creation.

Happy Friday

Ann

How cute is that? I love it! Like you said, so many possibilities. Love what you did with it for Fall. Now following you. I also loved all of the pictures on your sidebar and the sweet story about your grandmother's house.

You are right Ann, I DO love it! I loved, loved, loved the blue, but the black is awesome, and is a perfect contrast to the pumpkins. It will be fun for you to decorate at Christmas, too:)

Hi Ann, what a great find! Yay...I love what you did with it. Maybe at Christmas you could plant tiny little Christmas trees and tuck lights in the pot and ornaments where your pumpkins are....just a thought. I love your porch too. It looks wonderful. Very creative. Vacation is good for you! Hahaha...very good.
