Grandpa Cash Mug

My Maternal Grandmother was so good at making sure that we would always know what certain family treasures belonged to who.

I am so glad she did it! I find myself forgetting sometimes what belonged to who? I hate that because there is no one to ask.

The mug is beautiful, funny to think of a man drinking out of it.

Pink, white and purple lilac's

This is Grandpa Cash, my Great Great Grandfather. He was born in 1852 and lived till 1941. My Grandmother was so good to make her stories of my Grandparents come to life so much I felt like I knew them. I have so many of their things, furniture, silver, crystal and I think about how old some of them are since they were married in the 1870's.

They are truly vintage things.

Have a Happy VTT!

You're right the mug and the man don't seem to go together. That is a wonderful picture of him. Its great to have heirlooms that connect us to our heritage. Thanks for sharing. Happy VTT!

Ann, thank you for telling me about your post on your cottage and the dollhouse! I'm crazy about your blog, and I'm your newest follower. I have the breadbox that matches the trash can you recently found. It's one of my favorite things! I'm going to take my time, and read your whole blog!
Have a great day!

Hi Ann-love the mug-so pretty. And as I've said before, I love your header-such a beautiful and welcoming garden-I picture myself sitting on the bench between the watering cans!
hugs,

You are so lucky that your treasures are marked for yourself and future generations. I have items left by my mother and now don't know their story.

The mug is beautiful and you are right, doesn't quite fit our image of a man's cup.

Hi Ann, that cup is so pretty! Isn't it nice to have some old family pieces. I have some pretty heirlooms from my family too. Mary

I think it's great that your heirlooms are marked! It does seem like a strange mug for a man to drink out of, but hey, who am I to judge.

Thank for a trip back in time. I regret so much that our family did not date things. To me a date on anything is very important.

Enjoy your evening,

How awesome to have treasures from your ancestors. I sure wish I did. Only pictures. I imagine it wasn't unusual for a gentleman to drink out of a pretty cup in those days. I don't think the men in my house would touch it.

That is such a pretty mug! It is hard to imagine a man drinking out of it, but then those were different times. I did not realize that you and Robin (The Decorating Tennis Girl) know each other. Robin has become such a good friend of mine. Isn't blogging fun? We all get to know each other so well, and since I have come to know Robin so well, I hope that you and I will be close friends too!!

Lots of love,
Susan and Bentley

How simply wonderful that these are marked with the original family member who owned them. What a treasure, and such a pretty mug. Hard to imagine a lady giving up a mug like that to a man to use!! Happy VTT!

Had no idea that you had Cash blood in you. Related to any of them from Oakland or Newman?
Cool- Randi Moore had many Cash items from an estate at Newman. I don't have any Cash items but I do have some family trees. Let me know if you are interested.
Hugs- Tete

Eric's mom is really good about labeling too! The Amana colonies are in Iowa-a really great museum with a movie, but the rest of the place was too commercial for me!
