Time for a Hen Party!

The sun is shining and the water line is now fixed at 1515!

Spring is ready to be sprung and that means it is time for a party at 1515

Is this not adorable? I had bought this at my favorite antique store this fall 

to use for cousins weekend. But with several tragic things happening in 

our family we did not get to party.

Hard to belive this is still in the orginal package and yellow for the kitchen.

Our group of cousins just have a ball when we are together.

Times have been hard for all of us since October and maybe things

are behind us and we can be together and have some fun.

I am missing you all..........

We know how to make it a Special Occasion, just being togehter!

It's a Miscelanous Kind of Day

I have a day off and I am so glad, after a 14 hour day yesterday 

my legs are feeling it!

                                 I ran over to see my Sister in law because she and my brother
 have a new pup, a 5 yr old Chocolate Lab named Hershey...although it seems they keep calling him Buddy.

The sun is shining and with spring on my mind I did take a walk around the yard and the daffodils are up!

Since Christmas I have been moving things around from where I normally have them.

My husbands sister got me a lovely bath set for Christmas so....

Remember my silver tray I found with the "H" in the middle. It just went from the living room to the bathroom.

Sort of a theme? My Ballard Design shower curtain.

Then in the living room some movement too.

My heavy cast iron bird bath, holding my ceramic pears, normally on the sofa table is now on top of the secretary. I kind of like how the greens, yellow and golds from the picture blend in.

I usually put my forsythia in my Mom's Iris vase but for now it is my Waterford vase.

I just wanted to experience some spring to perk me up!

Back to work tomorrow for the rest of the week.

From the Cottage

The sun is shinning, and I am thinking of spring.

I can not wait to get my hands in the dirt

AND

to plan to spend some time in my garden cottage.

Since it is Pink Saturday, I thought I would show you

An Election Year Again?

It is another election year again?

The older I get the more I dread them, the ads, the debates, the tearing your opponent apart.

I use to love politics in my youth. I campaigned for a State Senator, I watched the conventions with my Grandfather.

How did my enthusiasm change?

I thought for VTT I would show you how my Great Grandfather

campaigned. A good old fashioned business card

Pretty simple.............."Will Appreciate Your Support"

And...

Yes he won election and is the last Democrat ever elected to that office in the County.

Happy Valentines Day!

I will wish you all a Happy Valentines Day a little early.

I will am working tomorrow so Mr. and I celebrated his birthday and Valentines together tonight.
A steak dinner and his brownies in his heart shaped pan.

No dozen and a half red roses this year.....2 red roses I was happy to have.

And for Mr. to tell me the only birthdays he remembers are the ones I have been with him, because I made them memorable.

What more could I ask for........

Happy Birthday!

February 13th is a day that two very special people in my life were born.

Today is Mr. birthday

Here is hoping it is a good one for him!

We spent the day with his Mom and two sisters yesterday.

They took him out to lunch and we spent the rest of the day going through old pictures with his Mom and writing the names on the back of pictures! I hate to find a picture that no one knows who they are.

It was a nice day.

Today we are going to have 4 inches of snow....I am off, yippee and I want to sit in my chair by the window and watch it. You see ever since I changed jobs where I am not responsible for 125 employees, I have wanted it to snow and know I did not have to worry about going out in it.

But I have work to do to..............
Mr. will want his birthday brownies!

This is the cake pans his Mom gave me when we got married. She always made him a Valentine cake for his birthday. I found his 1st birthday picture and yes there is a heart shaped cake on the table in front of him with one candle in it. So they have been used for 55 years!!

We will be having a steak dinner tonight.

It is also my cousin Jennifer's birthday

Here is Jen and her Mom Marty at 1515.

Jennifer and I have always been close, I was so excited when she was born, we are only 10 years apart so I am closer in age to her than my 1st cousins.

She is the grown up Mother of 3 wonderful children. She and her husband are so good to make family time and bring them to 1515 or our Galbreath Reunion.

I am proud of the women she has become.

So what are you doing this Monday...now that you know I am baking brownies and watching it snow?

Tulips and Valentines

I have several spots in my living room where I have my Valentine post cards displayed. Since I have so many pieces of  china with roses on them in pink, I thought they make the perfect companions. Some of you saw a hint in my last post....but the area was not complete. When I went to the grocery store yesterday they had the most beautiful pink Tulips....I had to have them!
