My Table and Chairs

Now that I have gotten more settled into 1515, I feel more comfortable taking things there. At first it made me nervous since no one is there everyday, but if you read my blog you had seen the things my cousins have brought that are so valuable to our family.

So at 1515, I try some unique things I would not do at home.
I asked my husband to start bringing things home from his business he has stored for me.

The table and chair set my brother and I had as children. The chairs were filthy!
Look what I found underneath

My name written in my Mom's handwriting! I would guess my brother and I must of fought over what chair belonged to whom!

The set screams the 1960's!

So decided it would look good in the utility room, and it doesn't take up much room. My little cousins can use it when they come over.

And of course I can decorate it too! Maybe I need to bring my doll dishes to set the table. But the main thing this is so much better to see my set, that brings back such happy memories, instead of seeing it rust in a basement in the dark!

The best part is I am as happy to have it now as I was to get it in 1961!
What do you think??
I look so excited, I am about to jump off my chair!

Can you blame me? Look what all Santa brought..and there is the table and chairs!
I am so glad I can use those things that bring back such happy memories!

Ann, that little set is so sweet, how lovely that you have kept it. The daffodil tray looks like it was made to be placed there.
Have a great week!

My hubby and his brother would fight over their chairs too...once his brother sat in the chair and my hubby said, hey that's mine...and his brother said, no your name isn't on it then my hubby said yes it is and there it was written on the chair...LOL...Thanks for sharing your sweet table! So glad you have it out!! Hugs,Mica

Hi Ann...

Ahhh...what a darling little table and chairs set, my friend! I know that you must be ecstatic to have this family treasure and that it brings back sooo many fond memories of your childhood! You know...I have an adult sized table and chair set that is nearly identical. I figured that it was probably manufactured some time during the 50's. Anyway, I'm just tickled pink for you, my friend! So glad that you are now able to have a place where you can use some of these precious family treasures too! Thanks for sharing them with us!

I also wanted to thank you for stopping by and taking a peek at my spring vignette! I always enjoy your visits and sweet notes!

Warmest spring wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design

I love it that you can have your table and chairs out so you can enjoy them! You had a major haul that Christmas!
Glad you got to play outside today. Advil in the morning will help get you out of bed! LOL
It was cloudy here almost all day and it was chilly! Then the sun came out and if felt so much better!

It is very special to have a treasure from your childhood and have it be in such good condition.
Your sweet Christmas picture made me smile. Adorable! I would have to frame that and put it above the little table!
You could not have picked out a better color chair to go with your flooring.
What a fun stop!

OMGosh, Ann. First I love the little table set, but I am spotting the black piano under the tree. I think I have the same one!!! Mine plays music and is a jewelry box. Let me know if that is what yours does.

What an adorable post! Love the table and chairs, and the photo, just brought a smile! We used to have stick horses like those!! I had a black one!!!

Thank you for the anniversary wishes, and congrats on yours earlier this week! It seems like a lot of time has past, but really not so much when you think about it!! We had a great day.

Have a wonderful VTT!

I love this and love that your name is on the bottom of the chair!

In my opinion, you should keep the bottom as it is. The fact your mother's hand wiring is there is a real treasure.

That is so precious that you still have your table and chairs set from way back when. We must be very close in age, because your Christmas picture looked a lot like ours from that era. And I had to zoom in and look at your toys to see if I recognized any that I had--yep, the pop beads, stick horses, and raggedy Andy/Ann for sure!

Thanks for sharing. We had those stick horses also. And a similar table and chair set. But no turquoise seats on our chairs. Lucky you!
