Touches of Fall

I don't feel much like decorating this year.
Maybe it is more that I am tired of making a mess and bringing the
Rubbermaid tubs up from the basement!

So I am going slow, little bits here and there,
changing things from the normal.

my vintage flower bucket
just add some bittersweet branches
and Chinese lanterns
I use to grow them..wonder why I don't now?

simplicity on the shelf
I collect postcards but have very few Halloween ones, they are more costly.

I had this vintage light fixture fit for a candle but.......
I am thinking a pumpkin is more fitting

a bouquet of orange cosmos and black eye Susan's
in a little brown jug I got last year

and the scent of a yummy pumpkin candle

So it did not take long, I did not make a mess and it is just enough to say
"fall is here!"

Hi Ann, I have never seen a real Chinese lantern. These are lovely. It must be too hot here for them. You have the best post cards. xo, olive

Well you are way ahead of me, Ann! I still have some of my beachy shells out from summer decor! Love the pumpkin on a pedestal!

I know how you feel, Ann. For me some years are better than others. At least you did a bit to keep the spirit of the season. I like to add orange and browns this time of year. 1515 looks festive, too. And you know when I feel down in the dumps like that, I try to fight it, not to give in to (for me) old age.

I know just how you feel about getting all the containers out, sometimes it just feels like too much, your displays look very nice!

That is so true about the Halloween postcards, they're always way too expensive! What other ones do you collect?

Hi Ann,
Your Fall decorating looks great so far. Cute apple bobbing postcard. I have a few but you're right they are more costly!
Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.

I have cut back on the amount of holiday decorating I do, too. I still go hog wild at Christmas, but even that is less than what I used to do. I've been sorting out the decor and getting rid of the stuff that doesn't have as much meaning to me. Purposefully trying to simplify my life and home.

Sometimes simple is best, leaves more time to enjoy! Looks just right to me.
