Putting Grandmother's Kitchen Back Together

Post Christmas cleaning, I think we all do it.
I was at 1515 last weekend and everything Christmas is put away
and everything in its place again.
I love kitchens decorated for Christmas, after all other than the room
where the Christmas tree is, it is the centerpiece of the holidays.
A place we gather to bake, cook, share a cup of cocoa and a secret about
a present.
fresh linens on the kitchen table. This beautiful tablecloth I won
this summer from Carol at Old Glory Cottage.

my Grandma's aprons all washed, iron and starched and hung back up
love the details

Pyrex all out and ready for the next dinner
the runner also was from Carol
doesn't that little pitcher match my Pyrex?
a gift from cousin Mary
looks similar to fiesta ware but is Hall
Oh how I love my Grandmother's kitchen at 1515. Sometimes I just sit there in the
quiet of the day after everyone has gone home.......just thinking of all the activities this
kitchen has seen for our family since 1926. I can still see them....my parents, aunts, uncles. cousins and grandparents in this kitchen in my mind.
It was the hub for many things.
My Great Grandparents 50th wedding anniversary in 1936
My Aunt Mary's wedding in 1947
My Grandmother's death in 1957
My Grandfather's birthday in 1978
and now all the gatherings we have
then
now

Sunday is a day for me to sit and think about the love
of my family, I hope you can sit around the kitchen
table with yours today.

The kitchen at 1515 looks awesome, but you know what, I could see all the love you have for that house in every detail in your decorating. You are very blessed to have 1515 and all of the memories. Great blog post!

What a charming room - so full of history. Oh, how I wish I had my grandmother's aprons! She had so many and they've all disappeared. I love your tablecloth and runner and I've always been partial to Hall China.

Thanks so much for joining in this week.

I think your grandma would love her kitchen now. It looks so bright and cheerful. Would love to see some old table clothes on the windows, with some lace and fun. Love that floor and the yellow walls.
I think that little pitcher is the best gift ever. Wonderful color and it does go with all the rest of the reds in the kitchen.
Love the aprons hanging, ready for use. ;)

Kitchens, the real gathering spot in any home. Although I do love Christmas and even say it's my favorite time of year, I am ready for a fresh, clean, simple look without all the holiday decor. A new start for the year. :-)

Ann, I think this is the sweetest kitchen ever. I loved this post! My dream kitchen has always had a big fireplace in it with a rocking chair next to it. Your blog banner reminds me so much of my Mom's neighborhood. :) xo

Every time I visit my favorite little shop here in town, I think of you when I see all the pyrex that Ann has (her name is Ann, too), wondering if there is a piece that you don't have. It must be very comforting to have your grandmother so near! I'l love to have my grandmother's home. I put a photo of it on Thanksgiving blog, a brick Tutor built in the 1930s. Such a grand home and I remember every single nook, cranny, and corner. I enjoy seeing your 1515 and understand how satisfying it must be make her house pretty.

Love this sentimental post, Ann!
My grandmother had those same bowls and I can still smell the outdoor laundry line freshness of her printed linens, just like the one on your table there!

Fond memories.
Thanks Ann!
