Vintage Kitchen

So many of you commented about seeing the vintage kitchen at 1515.
Thought maybe I better give you a tour?
And a view of some of the vignettes for Table Top Tuesday.

My table, that came out of the garden cottage

Each cousin has their own chair and vintage pillow

Top of the old radio cabinet I bought for $25

great place for cookbooks and storage
chickens kind of rule the roost around here

chalk for the chalkboard door

Looking from the dining room to the kitchen
the left is the chalkboard door for family members to write notes
my Grandmother's aprons hanging on the wall

My maternal grandmothers enamel top table that always sat in her garage.
Now it sits in my paternal grandmother's kitchen, the crock, cookie jar and grinder all returned to 1515 where they came from.
We have been collecting the crotched potholders

My grandparents coffee grinder on the shelf
Grandad's coffee can, returned to 1515
aprons we use

new shelf above stove

metal bread box and cannister set
Can not resist kitchen metal ware

Now for 3 views
Fall 2010
Spring 2009
This what the kitchen looked like when I bought 1515
Which do you like better?

My Mom and Aunt Catherine in the kitchen 1970
in the same spot

I love this kitchen
red white black yellow

I must of forgotten that the walls were yellow and the
curtains were red and white checked.....just like they are now
That is my Grandfather, my cousin Deb, myself and my
Grandfather's wife

There is something so special about making meals in that kitchen.
Whether it is the cousins sitting around the table in the morning drinking coffee,
a dinner party for the extended family or our big Christmas dinner, it is the
center of our universe when we are there.

Oh, Ann! What a sweetly sentimental place. It makes me think of my own kitchen when I was a kid. I love yours and I am so glad that you get so much enjoyment out of it. xo Diana

Well, I love the white cabinets now, but sort of was liking the cabinetless look from the photo in the 70's. I think it's so special that you have preserved that house for all the cousins!

1515 is such a treasure for your family. It must be just wonderful to spend time there with your cousins. Reminds me of my own grandmother's house and the cabin in the mountains, which burned down. Did you get the water line fixed? Warmer days are coming.
