Vintage Valentines

Vintage Valentines for the Thursday before Valentines Day

I have a great many Valentines, but these are my favorites.
They were my Grandmother's and the notes are handwritten by her.

I wanted to find a picture of Chester, but now I have a genealogy
mystery to solve? He died at age 20 and was in WWI per his tombstone.
But I can not find any document that he was in the service?
Guess when I get back to 1515 I will have to read Aunt Annie's
diary to see his fate?

This one is the oldest circa 1865

Have a Happy VTT

What a wonderful collection! My grandmother didn't save sentimental items. When she was in her 20s in Victorian England she became a nurse which prompted her to get rid of a lock of her sweetheart's (my grandfather's) hair as being unsanitary! You have a treasure!
Cheers!

what a wonderful gift for yourself, I love the 'old' handwriting after our loved ones leave that is all we have, just a whiff of a memory and writing.

I have a postcard with the same picture of the little boy that is on your first card. It is one of the Whitney Valentine postcards that I used in the "Little Sweethearts Vintage Valentine Postcards" video that I made a few days ago and posted on YouTube. I was amused that the boy on your card wanted a "little sweetheart."
