Attention to Detail

I am getting ready for our family reunion coming up next weekend. There is alot of preparation I need to do!
This is our 105th Galbreath reunion! This is the family of my Paternal Grandmother and my Grandmother who's home I bought 2 years ago as a weekend house for my cousins and myself.

I have been so happy that so many family members and friends have come to spend some time here.
The home will be the center of activity.
This spring my cousin brought her daughter and grandchildren for a visit. Her daughter Laura was thrilled to return to her Great Grandparents house...............but something was missing?

Where is Grandad's coin jar?

Ok Laura, there is one now in his bedroom!

You see memories are different for everyone, but I want to make sure I evoke that memory and the emotion for each person that visits 1515.

Do you remember a small thing from your Grandparents home that brings a smile to your face?

So if I am not around too much next week, you know where I am!

Have a wonderful time. My one memory from my Grandparents home was having to sleep in the large claw foot tub @ the age of 6 as the bedrooms were all full..every time I smell Dove soap I think of my Grandmother. ; ) Have a great week ahead!

Reunions are so much fun. I am gathering with second cousins next week-end. We will meet here at the Garden Spot where we will up date the family genealogy. I love that you are able to meet at 1515 with all of the family memories. I like your question. I remember nearly every single detail of my grandparents' home. I was about 10 when grandma died and grandpa gave me a figurine that she had said would be mine once she was done with it. It is on my bedroom dresser and it makes me smile. And I smile when I make a bed for I think of her as she is the one who taught me make hospital corners. I like your question, I will ask my cousins the same question. Have a great time.

I so wish I could be there!!!!! Congrats on the new car-lucky you-I've been needing a new vehicle(mine's 11 years old)but can't find anything I want yet.
I love how you make 1515 great for everyone. We're having company(about 50 people)and I'm so dreading it. I'll have to explain later. We've been literally killing ourselves trying to get everything ready! I feel like my summer is just been stolen away and then I'm trying to open every day I'm off at the Barn. I've been really trying to sell down so I don't have to pull so much out when I open. It's just killing me every time. I can't just open the doors. Things have been good though-sorry my comment was so long!

Love it Ann!

I remember my grandparents' little desk where granddad kept his pipe. I have the desk, now.

I do. I remember the tick-tock of their mantel clock. It's one of the reasons I wanted one for our home. It's a comforting memory.

Have a great time at the Reunion!

Hope your time with your family is perfect. I mostly remember my grandmother's kitchen...there were no cabinets. Just pieces of furniture she used for storage...her stove was very small but she fed a family of 6 for many, many years. I wish I could go back there just once and see it all again. Thanks for bringing back great memories.

OH, that is so sweet that she remembers his coin jar. I think it's wonderful you have recreated that for her. Yes, I remember so much about my Grandparents and their home and all the good times we had. I loved them dearly.

Can't wait to hear about the reunion. Our family hasn't had one is about 20 years, but it used to be a huge gathering. I remember my Grandmother's cookie jar. It was always full, no matter when you stopped by.
