Silver Thingie

Here is a piece of Silver I picked up at a flea market several years ago. It caught my eye because it was so unusual.

It has a salt, pepper and little mustard. They are kind of shaped like a egg.

The one opens up to reveal a cobalt blue insert, and it came with a small spoon similar to a salt spoon.

The markings are hard to see but I was so happy that it is English silver! I circled a few times before I picked it up for $35, which I thought it was a good price for silver, something this different.

It sits with my Grandmother's silver set on her buffet.

Have a great Thursday and I am joining Colorado Lady at
Vintage Thingie Thursday!

You found a keeper in this piece. It is very useful and unique. Would make a great conversation piece while eating.

Ann, I think this was used as a breakfast piece and the little container isn't for mustard but for jam. I could so see it on a table when serving a 3 minute egg in a cup and toast, couldn't you? Fancy, girl.
Dh said SL got up to 74 yesterday- we had a high of 62. It's 54 here now- at 9am. Supposed to be warmer than yesterday. So much of the snow and ice are gone now! Hopefully today should finish it off, but if it doesn't, it's still better than where we were at a week ago!
Have a great day- Tete

Oh what a fabulous and unusual piece. I love it. All of your silver is stunning. I am having so much fun using mine all over the house, I wonder why I didn't do it sooner. Great piece and the price is very reasonable. Hugs, Marty

I love English silver things -- and what a great piece -- I COVET it!!!!! And I think $35 is a really good price. I'm going to be looking for English silver when we live there during the month of May . . . . and you don't need to worry about it being broken getting it home!!!!!
