1515 Christmas in Review

I always look so forward to my week in December at 1515.
After it is over I have time to slow down.
But how I hate for it to be over, I get to spend time with my
family, have a great holiday party with family and friends,
a pj party with my cousins and most of all
just to spend time in my hometown and
relax a little.

I started decorating in November so when I got there, I was not
overwhelmed for a to do list.

The first day cousin Fred and I went out to lunch, for a drive in the
country and to get a Christmas tree.
I got the tree done the first night. See the blocks and nut bowl?
The blocks were my Grandmother's and the nut bowl appeared
under the tree in all my Grandparents Christmas tree pictures.

It was beautiful at night.....I loved sitting in the dark and looking at it.

Cousin Mary arrived the next day
We had lunch in my hometown with Robin from Decorating Tennis Girl
Robin and I have know each other our entire lives and the cousin tradition
of getting together started when we use to stay at the cottage at Robin's
B&B.

We had wrapping and cooking to do over the next 2 days

I hope you remember the story of Frank and Felicity, they came
south to spend the winter at 1515

On Saturday, friends and family gathered together to
celebrate the season.

Plenty of good food
and ...laughter

The twins just made in back in time from visiting the
Christmas markets in Europe.
The next day was Pajama day! and we had presents to unwrap!

a good time was had by all!

all the decorations will be up until I return......

Table Tops at 1515

Here is a look at 1515
My Aunt Annie's bookcase I just received from my cousin

I had no plans of how I what I was going to do...but I really like how it
turned out by using my vintage candlesticks, shiny bright ornaments,
beads and trees.
On the inside of the bookcase I have all my Great Grandparents Christmas
cards from the 1900-1940's displayed along with many of the Christmas
postcards they got through the years.

A Cold Snowy Morning

Cousin Mary is still asleep, and I can not seem to sleep past 6am.
But it is my favorite quiet time.
I am sitting here in the living room at 1515 with the only the lights from the Christmas tree
and the bookcases. I love it.........

I arrived to 1515 on Wednesday and cousin Fred and I went out for lunch and a drive. Then we stopped and got the tree for the house.

He put the tree up for me and then put the lights on.

Cousin Mary and I met in my hometown yesterday
for some shopping and lunch.
But the most enjoyable thing was that
met us for lunch. Robin and I grew up
2 blocks from each other and go to the
same church at home.
I was so excited to see her addition .
And I forgot my camera!! So these are from my phone
Her addition is gorgeous, as it her entire house.
It is so cozy and so full of old world charm.

Here is the tree at 1515 at night

I had this post ready to go last Friday...but having trouble getting the
pictures to load.
More to come

Oh Christmas Tree

We got our Christmas tree up on Sunday.
I love sitting in the evening with all the lights off except the ones on the tree.
Seems my camera does not do the tree justice.

Decorated with vintage family ornaments and
Hallmark ornaments collected over the years.
We use big and small lights combined, with some large twinkle lights
oh yes, and tinsel too!

My very favorite ornament from my childhood, it is the first
one on the tree every year.

I can never get tired of the vintage ornaments with scenes
or writing on them.

This years tree seems a little smaller, but a great shape and it had a birds
nest in it. That is suppose to bring you good luck so we left it in!

And my precious tree topper. My angel my Dad bought me at the Western Auto,
when I saw it I fell in love with it.

Starting tomorrow I am off for 8 days! Headed to 1515 in the morning.
Cousin Fred and I are going out to get a small tree for the house, and
on Saturday night is my sit down dinner for about 20.  And my PJ
Christmas day with cousin Mary and the twins!
