Radio Cabinet Repurposed

When I bought 1515 five years ago and was trying to furnish it as cheap as I could, I came across a old radio cabinet and thought it would be great in the kitchen.

a great place for cookbooks, Pyrex and to display my scale lamp. Perfect fit between my Grandmother's enamel top table.

But last spring my cousin brought my Grandmothers Hoosier cabinet back to its original home at 1515
so the radio cabinet had to go
but I love the detail on it so.......

so it was moved to my bedroom and I had some Rachael Ashwell wicker baskets that fit perfect.

It now has a assortment of vintage sewing items

perfect spot for this special picture of my Grandmother, I never knew her but my cousins say they can hear her laugh when they see this picture.

I think it fits the corner well

morning light into the bedroom

I think Grandmother would love the way her bedroom looks

so the third live of the
radio cabinet
kitchen cabinet
now
bedroom bookcase
is complete!

Pink Christmas Saturday

I am posting a picture of my Grandmother's aluminum Christmas tree that I had up in my bedroom at 1515 last year. Luckily after my Grandmother died I had the sense to keep it and it is in the original box. My Mother thought I was nuts for keeping it at first!

The tradition use to be on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving my mother would come down to stay, we would put the tree up in my pink spare bedroom at home, when I got off of work. We decorated it with vintage and new pink ornaments. My mom and I loved getting it out, and it kind of started the season off for us. I still did it for a while after my Mother died. But last year I took it to 1515 and it looked right at home in my pink bedroom there. I guess someday it may make it back home. I will post a better picture in mid December after I get it up, but for now here it is!

As life moves on, we make new traditions. Tomorrow is the annual tradition of going out for brunch with my husband, brother and sister in law. Then we go get our Christmas trees! It is great because my husband actually takes the day off and I get to spend the day with my brother!

Happy Decorating!!

My Bedroom at 1515

I love my bedroom at 1515....it's pink! I am not done decorating it yet, I need something large and dramatic over the bed. I keep looking for just the right thing.

My one splurge, my Wesley Allen bed I order. Love my Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic comforter.

The chair is on loan from my cousins basement!

The vanity was a gift from "penny the painter" who painted for me.

Love the woodwork, and both doors go to big closets! Hard to find in a house built in 1896.

Love my pink bench. Think it came from Rebecca at Elle Mae's Barn Gathering.

Pocket doors leading to living room.

As you can see I need something large to go above the bed. I know I will find just the right thing at some point!
