Pink Saturday

Pink Saturday today is about your favorite Christmas song and my friend at Ella Mae's Barn Gathering posted sheet music.......so I was having trouble thinking what to post today?

I found this sheet music a few years ago and I felt in pretty much summed up my life, "All I want is a cottage some roses and you".
Just give me my house, my husband and the roses we grow! So simple, but is says it all for me.
I have this hanging in my living room.

For a Christmas song, too many to choose BUT I love to listen to Ella Fitzgerald sing " Santa got stuck in my chimney"
I had it on a CD I bought a couple years ago. Apparently after she made the song she hated it because people made fun of the lyrics, turning them in to something they weren't. I just think it is a great little song.

Have a wonderful Pink Saturday!

Vintage Christmas

I love my bookcase at 1515 and it is great to decorate for Christmas.

The Holly lights illuminate things at night

Love my Frosty I got a few years ago. The electric light star is on top of the tree but I love the graphics on the box, check out the Santa Snow Flakes

The candles were a Christmas present last year

My favorite purchase this year, the Santa mugs still in the wrapper for $7, after I picked them up my cousin heard some say they were going back to get them, but they were already mine!

Santa looks like he saluting us!
I love picking up Gurley candles, I just got the Santa in the sled I had never seen that before?

Oh I love my girls!

Check out the vintage wrapping paper from a department store with my choir boys

I love vintage wrapping items

I hope you enjoyed seeing the all vintage bookcase items.

Santa to Greet You

This summer I was at a antique store and the owner said the next weekend he was having Christmas in July. Darn, I was going to be out of town. He was nice enough to let me in the back room to see what he had. I saw this gentleman and grabbed him up before I even knew how much he was......I could not leave without him. Luckily he was just $40.

I have him on the coat closet door to greet the guest at 1515. He is so cheerful!

Here he is!

To show you how big he really is

Santa Table Top Tuesday

At 1515 I have been buying vintage items to decorate with, mostly 1940-1950's. It seems Santa must of been popular. When I decorated this year I realized....I had alot of Santa's! At home I don't really have very many? So let's take a look!

Shelf that belonged to my Great Great Uncle that is in the Dining Room, full of Santa's.

The tall Santa I had seen at a local Antique Mall. I had wanted him but talked myself out of then a day later I went back, luckily he was waiting for me!
The planter on the left came from 1515. My Aunt sent my Grandfather some flowers for Christmas one year, and he gave me the planter. Now it is back to where it started!

You may think he is sleeping, but he is watching over 1515 when I am not home!

1515 Christmas

Today for Show off your Cottage Monday I am sharing pictures of my Grandparents house which is my 2nd home.

I have been blessed to be off of work for a week and made the drive to home. On Saturday night we had 24 family and friends for dinner. Last night was our PJ party we wore our pj's all day and unwrapped our gifts, ate left overs and watched Christmas movies as it snowed out. It has been wonderful to be home!

1515 covered with snow

This is the 2nd year we have owned 1515. My cousin and I try to replicate the trees my Grandparents had in the 1940's, so we have a small Frazier fir, decked out with vintage ornaments, tinsel and a star on top.

Picture of the 1942 tree next to the 2010 tree, same spot 68 years later!

View from the porch

Last night we had "Christmas Eve Dinner". We had 24 family and friends for dinner.
We had 4 different tables set up

Now for the collections!

A gift from my friends Rebecca and Tete!!
I think I will leave it on the dresser..matches the pink beads I already had down!

Another family member ALSO brought me some ornaments! Do I feel like a lucky girl or what?
Look at the pink birdy..he is on the aluminum tree as of this morning!

Today is PJ day in morning the one way, it is my little cousin PJ's birthday AND here at 1515 the 4 cousins that are here are going to be in our pajamas ALL day watching Christmas movies, eating leftovers and opening our gifts.

I think my Grandparents would be so happy to know that their home they purchased in 1926 is still filled with the love and fellowship of the season.

I love my sentimental life
Merry Christmas!

Aluminum Christmas Tree Dressed in Pink

A few weeks ago I posted my Aluminum Christmas tree that belonged to my maternal Grandmother. I made it to 1515 on Wednesday, and have been decorating.......I think I am finally done. So would you like a tour of my pink bedroom all ready for Christmas?

All vintage ornaments

The boot was originally on the tree when my Grandmother had it, they are Styrofoam but I think they are pretty.

I think this is my favorite ornament.

I just got this Wednesday, I LOVE it.

The picture is of my Paternal Grandmother who lived at 1515 wish I still had the muff!

I even have a Pink Santa!

Have a great Pink Saturday, I will show more later!
