Pink Saturday

My flowers are still looking good...
at home when I left.

My Dahlia's are having a resurgence with the cooler weather and some
much needed rain.
look at all the buds yet to bloom!

the leaf will remind me it is Fall
and my Dahlia is not here for long

the bees are checking out my Cosmos

the mums are starting to burst with color,
and my boomerang lilac is re blooming.

Cousin weekend for my birthday has fallen through
for the first time in years.
The Chicago gang could not come, nor my one cousin from Indiana.
But cousin Marty came and brought her Grandaughter.
We had a big weekend planned, but a family emergency
has interrupted that and they are on their way back to Indiana at
0630 this morning.
They are putting a new sidewalk in across the street at 1515.

Now look at my pink surprise!
The Chicago cousins sent me this!
Grandma is watching over them on my dresser.

So, my birthday weekend will be different.
1515 is quiet
But then it is homecoming at
EIU
this weekend.
When I was little I thought the parade was for me!
I still get a kick out of going.
I am walking up town to meet the twins to watch it.
Then I have a Charleston Riot meeting tomorrow,
so I have enough things to do not to feel lonesome.

Will be happy to head back to St. Louis on Monday.
I am sure everyone kind of looks like
Greta today!
Happy our Cardinals came from behind to win.
Vision of a repeat World Champions dancing in our heads.

Have a great Saturday!

Happy, happy birthday Anne.
What a shame that your cousins weekend has fell through, but I'm certain you'll make up for it next time!
The garden blooms are so lovely, as is your pink surprise :o)

Happy Birthday! Your flowers still look beautiful. Especially your Dahlias. They are my favorites, but I never have planted any. My mom used to have so many giant flowered varieties of them when I was a kid. She had to dig them up and bring them in for the winter. Do you? I'm in St. Louis, too. Go Cards!

Your flowers look wonderful! Some of mine are great and the others got so nipped the other night.
Sorry your get together plans fell through this fall. Bummer!
Hope you had fun with the parade. We used to go every year until I fell apart. Its just too much for me to do anymore, and I do miss it. Hope you got candy!
