Promotional Pyrex

When I went to Clarksville Mo., shopping with my
SIL and BIL we ran over to Louisiana Mo.,
also. Picked up a few things there too.
One thing is a project for the kitchen at 1515

But look at what I found...and almost did not get!

1960 Promotional Pyrex Bowl
the Salad Bowl
It was on the shelf, I noticed it was a Pyrex Cinderella bowl
in near perfect condition

It has fruit and vegetables around it.
It originally came with plastic salad tongs.

I actually walked away.
I figured "I don't need that"
But wait a minute....it is only $8
And do you see something on it?
Kind of like when you look at clouds and see something?
The baby! When I look up info on it, it stated it has a baby on it!
Well I guess it does, upside down in this picture, but not the first picture.

As I stood at the check out....I ran back and grabbed it.
Glad I did, it will make a great salad bowl for those dinners at 1515.

I never would have seen the baby, I love it. One of the best things about reading my favorite blogs is learning new information. Thanks.

It looks like it is in near perfect condition. Breaks my heart to see some at the Good Will that people put in the dishwasher...and the GW tries to charge a high price because they're old Pyrex.
It's tricky sometimes, do I need it, have room for it, or should I get it because it is unique? That's such a problem for me.

Here's my thrift store habit; if I see something I like but am not sure about it goes into the cart. I walk around with it and when I'm ready to check out if we have 'bonded' it goes home with me. Some things are not as desirable as when I first saw them and they go back on the shelf!

I do exactly what Tammy does! haha
OK it's so funny that you mention the baby! Every time I see that bowl online, all I can see is A BABY! I can't get it out of my head, I don't even see fruit anymore! hahah I'm so glad that someone else sees it too and that I'm not nuts!

Hi Ann,
I'm so glad you went back for that bowl. It is so different. I was in Maine a week ago and I saw lots of bowls, thought of you of course. If I only had more storage room I would have picked myself up a few to have. lack of space keeps me from buying..
Have a great week...

yes,I spotted the baby. Was that done intentionally by the company? Love that color too! And you got it for a steal! wow

Oh I see the baby now! If I put everything in the cart that I liked I'd have a whole huge cart full. Instead, I try to remember where I saw it, and walk through the rest of of the store. Big mistake! Then I can't remember where anything was and I have to try to go through the whole store again.

Glad you didn't pass on it. Love the color. I have not heard of this before. As I looked at it I thought that it looked like a baby. Who Knew? lol! The baby is interesting. Any reason why? Just curious.

So glad you got it. It's so pretty and the baby is really cute. I often see Pyrex at the thrift shops and pass it up. Think I'd better start taking a second look.
