Oh Christmas Tree

We got our Christmas tree up on Sunday.
I love sitting in the evening with all the lights off except the ones on the tree.
Seems my camera does not do the tree justice.

Decorated with vintage family ornaments and
Hallmark ornaments collected over the years.
We use big and small lights combined, with some large twinkle lights
oh yes, and tinsel too!

My very favorite ornament from my childhood, it is the first
one on the tree every year.

I can never get tired of the vintage ornaments with scenes
or writing on them.

This years tree seems a little smaller, but a great shape and it had a birds
nest in it. That is suppose to bring you good luck so we left it in!

And my precious tree topper. My angel my Dad bought me at the Western Auto,
when I saw it I fell in love with it.

Starting tomorrow I am off for 8 days! Headed to 1515 in the morning.
Cousin Fred and I are going out to get a small tree for the house, and
on Saturday night is my sit down dinner for about 20.  And my PJ
Christmas day with cousin Mary and the twins!

Your tree is beautiful, so are you photos. I have discovered that the best pictures are taken with the flash turned off, such as you have taken.

I didn't know a nest in a Xmas tree was good luck? COOL.
What's this, a P.J. party???? I love P.J.'s period. You'll find me in mine most day's, lol.... it's true.
LOVE your sweet little angel girl. I have a little one like her on my little tree in my kitchen.
Have a fun time at 1515.

Wonderful! I hope you are starting your Christmas vacation off right by sleeping in a bit.
The sun is finally coming out here a bit.

Lovely Ann and I love the vintage ornaments and have started collected them myself. The tree topper is sweet. Photographing a Christmas tree is tricky stuff. You might try opening the curtains behind it and letting natural light in. Last year I did not show my tree at all because I could not figure out how to shoot it. Happy Christmas and enjoy those EIGHT Days.

I am sitting here in tears. For some reason your tree reminds me of one we had when I was little...REALLY little! I would lay under the tree and look up at the lights, and could smell the scent of the tree. We had those same vintage ornaments that you have. I don't have a lot of happy memories, but your post brought back a good one. Thank you, Ann.

Ann your Christmas tree is beautiful! I love it!!! I have one ornament that gets hung on my tree first too. It was my grandmother's then my Mom's and now it's mine. I can't even begin to guess how old it is. I only know that it's a family keepsake that I will treasure. I will pass it down to my daughter when the time is right. Thanks for sharing your beautiful tree with all of us.

Nothing better than a real tree. I have to go soon before they are all gone. I usually pick the ugliest one on the lot, I kinda like a Charlie Brown type tree. Go figure. Richard from My Old Historic house.

Ana, what a perfect tree! I have not seen one with the big colored lights and tinsel since I was a child. I wish they still sold the big bulb colored lights, I would own some! They bring back such fond memories.

I love the vintage look of your tree with the colored lights. I was on the fence about using white lights or the colorful ones...I am inspired by your tree.

Your various shots of the tree are very pretty, but I like it best in the first one, green. That is one of the prettiest angles I have seen.
