A Clean Slate

I spent yesterday cleaning my living room, ceiling to floor. I thought if I had to move the furniture back from where the tree was, then everything was getting cleaned and moved. I even emptied about my curio cabinets and cleaned everything in them. And the drawers! The things I shove in there and the things I find!

Here is one my favorite all time purchases, my beautiful oak coffee table. I have never seen another one like it.

As you see there is nothing on it, a clean slate. I will be deciding today what to put on it.

But I love the details
The leaf detail of the handle...just love it!

Here is the cabinet I got cleaned and started putting some Valentine things out.

This time of year I like to cover some of my tables with linen. My side table I cover with a small tablecloth I purchased for my Mom when I was in Paris. Clean, crisp, white and a cleaner look. This is my view from where I blog.

Well, now that I have enjoyed my clean living room, it is time to get to the kitchen and dining room, some more laundry and grocery shopping. It never seems to get all done! We are in for snow tonight and I have to be at work at 5:15 so it looks like I will be getting up at 3:30 instead of 4 to drag myself thru the snow!

I am so looking forward to doing some much needed cleaning myself. I've started going room by room to figure out what I need to part with-it's a good feeling. I need to get the house done in the next 2 months so I can work on the garage, shed, and barns in the spring-that wears me out thinking about it. Wonderful coffee table! When are you in town again?

Ann,
Your oak table is really great! You have been a busy bee today. Be careful going to work. We have an appt in Springfield tomorrow for Dad's head. We might have to cancel if it is too bad. I change the dressing twice a week. I am getting to be a pretty good nurse!

Wow- what a beautiful table! Sounds like you have been a busy cleaning girl... I am doing some 'spring' cleaning too, but not done yet... gotta get moving! Stay warm! :)

Ann, Your table is lovely. I really need to get busy cleaning and purging. Thanks for your visit and kind comment on my bottle rack. Take care.

Hi Ann, I just became a follower on your blog. You have some lovely things. I have been doing the same thing cleaning each room from top to bottom. We have snow here in NC too! So I just got tired of cleaning and started making some button bracelets for the grandkids and there friends. They are all spending the night so they can do some snow sledding behind the house tomorrow. Have a great week and don't work to hard cleaning. Blessings, Vicky

I ALWAYS clean in January -- from top to bottom (attic to cellar) and I cleaned my living room today as well (and found two missing Christmas ornaments that got off the tree and behind furniture!) I love it when the house smells so good and clean! Today is the Master and perhaps the sunroom as well (they are connected) and if I can do both, then I will be done -- if not -- then I'll do the sunroom the next day!

Your coffee table is really neat -- it is very unusual!

I'll be interested to see what you put on top!
