Garden Tour and a New Potting Shed Roof

Wow did we work hard this weekend!
I got all 8 beds in the front weeded, planted and mulched.
I am loving this cooler than normal weather to work in the yard with long sleeves and sweat pants.
That means no unknown weed I pull won't make my arms break out.

The pansies love the weather
How can your resist that happy face!

While I was doing that Mr. was putting a new roof on the potting shed you see in my header

Glad he is handy to have around!
He is not a great carpenter, better electrician, mechanic and painter but he did a wonderful job!
So I could not get all that back bed weeded for the stuff flying off the roof!

Last year I was just devastated that the ferns my Mom had taken to her home from 1515 and then gave to me did not come up. Well this year some did and some came up in the yard!?
I will have to dig it up and transplant it back to where it belongs.

One of my David Austin roses is blooming
The fragrance is unbelievable, as you sit on the front porch the aroma is so sweet.

My Mom's irises are doing wonderful, they just keep blooming.
This one came up between the porch and rail.

This is what I am SO happy about after 2 years my yellow peony finally bloomed!
loving this one

Little by little I am getting it done
The porch is not planted or cleaned yet.

also can not believe after the winter we had my Dahlia's came back!

side of the drive with rose, peonies, roses and lilies.
will look more colorful

Looking forward to a bouquet to bring in.

My little angel is overtaken by the aroma of the rose, see the smile on her face?

I hope things in your garden are doing well.

My Nikko Blue Hydrangea must of taken a hit.
Usually the growth and blooms are from the old wood.
Well it is only getting leaves from the bottom up so I did the unthinkable
and cut it back. So no blooms probably this year.
Last year..........

But that is what gardening is all about.

Have a beautiful day!

Sending My Sweet Friends A Bouquet of Dahlia's

My Dahlia's are beautiful this year
They seem to be in the heights of their blooms
even though it is October

So I picked this bouquet for you.........

I have 4 I did not dig up last year and they all came back!
It is a southern exposure, I cut them to the ground a Mr.
heaps grass clippings on them..must of worked!

beautiful pink

pink with a touch of yellow

and the big beautiful one with huge blooms is yellow

I have company tomorrow night so I thought I needed a bouquet
for the Dining Room table, even if we are just having hamburgers
on the grill.

all arranged in my silver compote

Not very fallish, looks more like spring
but I have orange cosmos I have also made arrangements of.

I just find such peace going out and picking what I have grown from a
seed or a bulb, watching it grow and enjoying the amazement of
its beauty.
here the bouquet is on the porch ready for fall

I think it may stay there for now.......
the minute I bring it in, Boots will be drinking the water and dismantling it.

sigh.............

Hope you are having a beautiful Saturday
Week 1 of vacation is almost over

Nikko Blue?

Here is my Nikko Blue Hydrangea
instead of blue it rewards me with shades of pink, lavender, and blue

see all the different shades?

peeking through the fence

just love it

What is happening around the Sentimental home?

while sitting on the porch I noticed an excited Morning Dove

something is in the tree

Mama and baby
I have only seen one

My Dahlia is acting like it is on steroids
It is huge for June
and ready to bloom
there is a bug in there?!

the other one is not as large but is ready to burst open too

this one is pink and yellow

It is warm and I think Boots has the right idea

just hang out and relax

Happy Sunday

Scenes From the Garden

Saturday Morning in the Garden

Nikko Blue Hydrangea

Garden Cottage

Annabelle Hydrangea

Picasso Petunia

Lily is blooming

My knockout rose can not decided what color it wants to be
blooming 2 colors on one bloom?

Dahlia ready to bloom
it came back from last year
OK, I need to weed :(

neighbor's hydrangea and garden
they got new siding and after 18 years of looking a gray home,
I can not adjust to the yellow?

And my Robin's are all gone.
I so enjoyed them while I was on vacation
I happen to see the last 2 leave the nest
I documented the last one leaving as I watched
the angel is telling him to fly

Mama says "come on"

he jumped out of the nest "I can fly, I can do it!"

so he hopped
and hopped
and he looked back........one more time
Goodbye sweet baby, I will miss you

Hope your weekend is a great one
and Happy Fathers day to all
I miss mine so
So glad I knew what is was like to be loved beyond measurement.
The look on his face says it all as he looked at my brother and I.
